It’s been a while since I hit the dynasty league rankings, so I thought I would update them over the next week. I start with quarterbacks, where there’s no shortage of talented young players for dynasty owners to choose from. Here are my updated Top 25 dynasty league quarterbacks with analysis.

Auction drafts have become very popular over the past few years. Some fantasy owners won’t do anything but auction leagues because they claim the auction format offer up much more excitement. I must admit I’m still married to the old school draft. I’ve always loved playing the GM and preparing for my fantasy draft like it was the NFL Draft. I am warming up to the auction concept but I suspect I’ll always be a draft guy at heart. Here are some players I feel are being overvalued based on their current auction prices.

One of my goals here at The Pigskin Guy is to bring you new and interesting voices on fantasy football. I mean even I’m getting sick and tired of listening to my own constant inane babbling about players. So it gives me great pleasure to announce Fantasy FB Pundit as a contributor to my blog.

I’m sure some of you already follow Pundit on Twitter @FantasyFbPundit. If you don’t follow him, you should. Pundit does a tremendous job of delivering great fantasy football information in 140 characters. He also puts together highlights of different players, which are extremely valuable to fantasy owners. If you were going to follow either me or Pundit on Twitter, I would say follow him.

In his second installment of Draft Day Decision, Pundit breaks down who’s a better choice between DeMarco Murray and Marshawn Lynch.

I’ve done a number of mock drafts and I thought I would post the results of one of them for discussion purposes. This is from a FFPC 12-team draft at FantasyMoJo.com that includes a flex position and counts 1 point per reception.

I wanted to give you the results of a draft that was not only very competitive but also didn’t go my way all the time. Often we have this blueprint going in but then things change once the actual draft takes place. This is one of those times where I missed out on a few players I wanted and therefore ended up with a draft I didn’t particularly love when it was all said and done.

Also, I went in targeting a quarterback early. Last time I posted a mock I waited on a quarterback, so I wanted to switch it up. Oh, and I don’t draft kickers. I just pick one up before the start of the season. Last year I picked up a guy named David Akers. I cut him a week later but you get my point.

I picked in the 10 hole and the draft lasted 16 rounds. Here’s how it played out for me in the 100th post here at The Pigskin Guy.

Round 1 (10) – Marshawn Lynch, RB Seahawks
What I realized in this mock is picking in the 10 hole sucks. There just isn’t any advantage this year in my opinion. I knew I was going to take a quarterback early but since I was targeting Matthew Stafford I figured I could wait until my next pick. This selection came down to Lynch and Larry Fitzgerald. I ended up going with Lynch, who was my top rated back left on the board. It’s not a spectacular pick but in that offense I think Lynch has a shot to run for 1,300 yards and double-digit scores.

One of my goals here at The Pigskin Guy is to bring you new and interesting voices on fantasy football. I mean Christ, even I’m getting sick and tired of listening to my own constant inane babbling about players. So it gives me great pleasure to introduce the debut article from Fantasy FB Pundit.

Pundit and I are planning on doing a feature called “Fantasy Faceoff” in the coming weeks where we each take a player and make an argument for him. He’s also going to contribute some pieces like this one where he looks at a couple of guys rated near each other and gives his opinion on who is the better choice come draft day.

In his first post, Pundit tells you why Ryan Mathews should be drafted over Chris Johnson. I think Fantasy FB Pundit did an excellent job of making his argument and giving out a ton of information like he always does. Enjoy.

I finish up my updated ranking by taking a look at receivers. It’s still tough to rank those guys in the 10-25 range, which goes to show the quality at the receiver position this year. I’ll be moving receivers around right up until I release my final preseason rankings but for now here are my Top 100 for 2012.

There isn’t a lot of movement in the tight end rankings this time around. As we close out June my tight end and quarterback rankings are starting to take shape. Running backs are getting there and receivers are still a work in progress. While there are a couple of highly rated fantasy tight ends, I also like the depth at the position this year. Here are my updated Top 40 fantasy tight ends for 2012.
