I’m finishing up my updated position ranking with tight ends and receivers. I look at tight ends here and I’ll hit receivers later on in the week. Like quarterbacks and running backs, I’m starting to settle on tight ends, especially the Top 20. However, I’m still tinkering with the bottom half of my ranking as training camps approach. Here now are my Top 40 fantasy tight ends for 2012.

Thanks to guys like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham, every team in the NFL is trying to find athletic tight ends that can create mismatches for opposing defenses. That’s good news for fantasy owners, who have more talented options at the position to choose from than ever before. Here’s a look at my Top 25 dynasty league tight ends.

There isn’t a lot of movement in the tight end rankings this time around. As we close out June my tight end and quarterback rankings are starting to take shape. Running backs are getting there and receivers are still a work in progress. While there are a couple of highly rated fantasy tight ends, I also like the depth at the position this year. Here are my updated Top 40 fantasy tight ends for 2012.

The tight end position is interesting because whether you take one of the two studs early or wait until a little later on in the draft, there are enough quality players that you should end up with a productive starter. I’ve been using ADP data from MyFantasyLeague.com because the information differs from a lot of other sites. However, when it comes to tight ends, the results at My Fantasy League are pretty similar to other places. Here’s a look at the current ADP of tight ends, along with my thoughts on who is being undervalued and overvalued.

The tight end position had a bit of a shakeup when Kellen Winslow was traded to Seattle and the Buccaneers then signed Dallas Clark. I’ve set the over/under for Clark going on Injured Reserve at Week 4. Considering I like the under, that tells you how much worth I think Clark has to fantasy owners in 2012. I increased my tight end rankings from 30 to 40 this time around. I probably won’t go any higher than Top 40 with tight ends.

Just one quick update for the site. I make sure to post at least once a day but I’ll be away this weekend doing family stuff, so I won’t have anything new up until late Sunday night. Next week I’ll be analyzing the latest ADP data. Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend everyone. That’s right it’s Memorial Day. We’re just two months away from preseason football. Then all will be right with the world once again.

There’s some some movement in my latest tight end rankings. Obviously I’m talking about after the first two guys because Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham are entrenched as the top players unless one of them gets injured. Fantasy owners still have plenty of quality options after the Big 2 though. Here’s a look at my updated Top 30 fantasy tight ends. I’ll have my Top 100 receivers coming tomorrow.

Thanks to guys like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham, tight end is all the rage in the NFL these days. More and more teams are trying to find athletic tight ends that will create mismatches for opposing defenses. That’s good news for fantasy owners. It was just a few years ago that it looked like the tight end position was almost becoming extinct in the passing game. That’s no longer the case, as both Gronk and Graham are being selected in the Top 20 overall picks on average. Here’s a look at my Top 25 dynasty league tight ends.

The tight end position has changed for fantasy owners over the last couple of years thanks to the emergence of players like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. Both Gronkowski and Graham are now being selected in the Top 20 overall picks, according to early Average Draft Position (ADP). I don’t ever remember two tight ends going that high and I’ve been playing fantasy football since 1989. If you don’t want to use a high pick on a tight end though, don’t worry. There are plenty of quality tight ends scattered throughout the entire draft. Tomorrow I’ll look at receivers, which usually stirs the most debate when it comes to ADP.

I’ve expanded my tight end rankings to the Top 30 now that the draft is over but only one rookie, Coby Fleener, made the cut. Still, there are a lot of players moving up and down as always. Tomorrow I will release my expanded (and time consuming) Top 100 receivers to finish off my post-draft fantasy rankings.
